Auto Insurance

Automobile Insurance: Protect yourself by making sure you have
all the right coverage's in the event of an accident. The following
is a brief description of the coverage's and options in the State
of Vermont.
These definitions are designed to help you understand insurance
and assist your purchase of a complicated product.
Liability Insurance:
This coverage provides you with protection for
bodily injury and property damage that you or an operator of your
vehicle may cause through the use of your vehicle. You should purchase
adequate liability limits to protect your assets from law suits. Our
Agency practice is to write liability limits no lower than $100,000 per
person/ $300,000 per accident and $100,000 property damage or $300,000
combined single limit for our clients who are good drivers. We encourage
higher limits as we feel this coverage is the single most important
protection in Auto Insurance.
Uninsured & Underinsured Motorist Coverage:
Protects you with liability
coverage from other drivers who either do not have any insurance or
do not have enough. Provides for bodily injury to you, member of your
household and passengers of your vehicle. Since the minimum limit
of coverage in Vermont is $25,000 per person/$50,000 per accident/
$10,000 property damage, there remains a good percentage of the population
driving with the low limits. This can greatly expose you and your
family. We recommend higher limits at stated above of $100K/$300K/$100K
or $300,000 single limit.
Medical Payments:
Provides coverage for medical payments for you
and occupants of your vehicle if injured. We recommend at least $5,000
limit.
Physical Damage to Your Vehicle:
Comprehensive Coverage:
Covers your vehicle for everything except
collision or upset. Glass breakage, fire, theft, vandalism are the
most common events covered. A deductible you select applies.
Collision Coverage:
Covers your vehicle in the event of a collision
with another vehicle or object. A deductible you select applies
Other Coverages:
Towing & Labor: if your vehicle breaks down and
need a tow, jump start, etc. Increments offered are $25, $50, $75
per incident.
Rental Reimbursement:
If your vehicle get into an accident and you
need to rent a vehicle, this coverage reimburses you in increments
of $15, $30/day.
